Hello, I'm Melissa Antunez.

I am a Mexican visual artist based in Barcelona, exploring the darker layers of the human experience through oil painting, drawing, and illustration. My work is deeply influenced by dreams, altered states of consciousness, personal memories, and introspection. I transform experiences of fear, death, grief, and transformation into unsettling yet emotional imagery, where monsters, distorted bodies, and strange entities become manifestations of what often remains hidden within us. Through darkness, I explore vulnerability, identity, and rebirth, seeing the monstrous not simply as something to fear, but as a mirror of the human psyche.
