Some goodbyes set you free

Some Goodbyes Set You Free We often struggle to say goodbye, as if letting go means allowing someone or something we have loved to disappear. But perhaps goodbye is not an ending. What leaves our sight does not necessarily leave our existence. The figure emerges beneath an elaborate crown-like form, suspended between presence and absence. She seems to be both concealed and revealed—as though what has gone has simply taken another form, becoming part of our memory, our inner world, and the person we continue to become. Some goodbyes set us free not because we stop loving, but because we learn that love can remain without possession.
