Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
In this painting, the larger figure gently observes the smaller figures gathered within the open book, creating a quiet dialogue between the self we are now and the more vulnerable parts of ourselves. The little figures can be understood as different versions of us: the selves we have been, the selves we are still becoming, each carrying their own fears, struggles, and invisible battles. I wanted to approach this idea through tenderness rather than judgment. Perhaps compassion begins when we learn to look at ourselves, and at others, from another perspective—with greater patience, understanding, and kindness. We are all, in our own way, simply trying to do our best while navigating a life whose struggles are often invisible to others.
