âme sensible

Âme sensible A sensitive heart feels what others may barely notice. As Flaubert once expressed it, “What merely rubs others, tears me apart.” This work is a meditation on the fragility of a heart exposed to the world. The anatomical heart is held and tightened by ordinary clothespins—a simple, almost domestic gesture transformed into a metaphor for the invisible forces that constantly press upon us. Every encounter, every separation, every joy and sorrow, every tenderness and wound leaves its trace. For a sensitive soul, the world is felt with an intensity that can be both a burden and a gift. What passes lightly over others may remain deeply within. The heart is therefore not only wounded; it is open. It suffers because it feels, but it is precisely this capacity to feel deeply that allows it to love, to empathize, and to remain awake to the beauty and pain of existence. Perhaps sensitivity is not a weakness, but the price of experiencing life more deeply.
