The Sleep of Endymion
A large and atmospheric Pre-Raphaelite depiction of The Sleep of Endymion, executed in pastel on paper by Ernest Lloyd Jones. This accomplished Royal Academy-exhibited work depicts the sleeping Endymion visited by the luminous figure of Selene, rendered with an ethereal, dreamlike quality. Signed and dated by the artist lower left and presented glazed in its original ornate antique gilt frame, which shows some minor age-related damage.
